Reflection on Informative Tool
Informative Tool
An informative tool is any application that provides vast repositories of information or content to learners. Their main purpose is to inform, guide, and support independent learning. In educational setting, informative tools help students and teachers in gathering, sharing, and using information efficiently and effectively. One informative tool we used during our teaching and learning experience was Google Forms.
Google Forms is an online platform that allows teachers to create quizzes, surveys, and forms to collect information from students. It is considered an informative tool because it enables both teachers and students to gather and understand data quickly and easily. Teachers can use it to assess understanding, give quizzes and gather student feedback. It also helps students learn by giving them instant feedback on their responses.

This images shows a quiz created in Google Forms with auto-grading and feedback enabled. The immediate feedback allowed us the students to understand our mistakes and correct them independently, promoting self-directed learning.

One of the biggest advantages of Google Forms is its ability to automatically organize all responses in one place. Teachers can monitor answers in real time and even get visual summaries through charts and graphs. This feature supports data-driven teaching, helping educators identify learning gaps and adjust their instruction accordingly. For instance, if many students get the same question wrong , the teacher can revisit that particular topic to reinforce understanding.
Through my experience, Google Forms was used in various ways. Lecturers created short quizzes to assess our understanding after lesson, and they also used it to gather feedback for improving their teaching methods. We the students submitted our reflections and even peer evaluations through Google Forms. It was easy to access via a simple link (worked both in laptops and phone) and made it especially convenient.
One of the most useful features is the quiz mode, where teachers can assign points to each question and give feedback for correct or incorrect answers. This made learning more interactive and gave us a clear sense of our progress. It also saved time because the forms are marked automatically.
Overall, Google Forms is a simple yet powerful informative tool. It helps make learning more interactive, organized, and efficient. It supports both teaching and learning as it enables structured information collection and feedback. As a teacher trainee, using Google Forms has shown me how technology can make classroom activities easier and enrich the overall educational experience.
